Should You Spray/Neuter Your Cat?

Most cats should be sprayed or neutered at an early age.  Animal shelters and rescue groups are crowded with unwanted pets that, in many cases are the result of accidental or poorly planned breeding.  Sadly most of these pets are never adopted.

The benefits of early spray or neuter outweigh the cons resulting in better health and longer life for the kitty and peace of mind for you.  Still today many owners do not spray or neuter their cats. Spraying or neutering is recommended for the general cat population. Purebred cats may be put in Cat Fanciers’ Association Cat Shows as long as they have not been declawed. They have a special category in with CFA and do not compete against unaltered cats.
