Please Stop by Purrfect Paradise

Spend Some Time in Purr Paradise! Be sure to stop by and check out our lovable cats in their new Purr Paradise home! The new area in our shelter allows the cats to roam free in a large comfortable room, complete with toys, climbing trees and shelves. Visitors to Purr Paradise are able to enter the room and spend lots of time interacting with the cats so that they can select the “purrfect” feline to adopt. Purr Paradise is located at our Fort Lauderdale Adoption Center, 1870 S.W. 39 St. The room is open during regular adoption hours, Tuesday through Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wildlife Care Center

Just One Day! Broward County Animal Care has joined shelters nationwide who have pledged to save dogs and cats during the Just One Day event, Monday, June 11. In honor of Just One Day, Broward County Animal Care will host two pet adoption events on Monday, June 11, at the downtown Governmental Center, 115 S. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale, and Government Center West, 1 N. University Drive, Plantation. Both events will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is the first time that shelters have joined forces to show their support for saving the dogs and cats in their care through pet adoptions, rescue and foster programs. All participating shelters have agreed not to euthanize any animals that day. The adoption events are open to all residents.

Use Care with Wildlife! During this time of year many wildlife animals mate and care for their young, including ducks, raccoons and other animals. Because of this, you may find many of these creatures in your backyard or community. Broward County Animal Care DOES NOT assist with matters or questions concerning wildlife – only dogs and cats. For questions about wildlife, or if you spot an injured or sick animal that needs assistance, please contact the Wildlife Care Center at 954-524-4302.

Pet Registration Tags are easy to obtain and are available:
