Mother’s Day Photos With Your Pet

Two-for-One Cat Promotion Begins. If you love cats, then come on down! From now through September 30, you will be able to adopt two cats at the single adoption fee of $74.95. The fee for both cats includes a health exam, vaccinations, feline leukemia/AIDS test and spaying or neutering. In addition, each cat will receive a Broward County Pet Registration Tag. To take advantage of these special adoption fees and help save more lives, visit either of the Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Centers located at 1870 S.W. 39 St., Fort Lauderdale or 3100 N.W. 19 Terrace, Pompano Beach. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Friday, 1 to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Both shelters are closed to the public on Mondays and the Pompano Beach facility is closed on Sunday. Friendly cats and kittens are also available for adoption through any of the Pet Supermarket stores located in Broward County at the two-for-one special rate.

Summer Community Service Opportunity for Students. Students, who may have more time on their hands this summer, are encouraged to sign up to become Student Foster Parents! From now through September, Animal Care will realize a big increase in the number of young kittens that come into our Adoption Centers. Many of these kittens are orphaned and, therefore, must be bottle fed by a loving and caring Student Foster Parent in order to survive. Student Foster Parent applicants must be able to have the time to bottle feed every few hours, day and night. Students should be responsible and parental approval must be granted. Training will be provided and credit will be given toward required school community service hours. To register to provide foster care, contact our Foster Coordinator, at 954-359-1313 ext. 9272.
