Groomers See Pet More Often Than Vet

Usually a groomer will see our pets more often that their veterinarians.  Groomers are the “eye in the field”.  Who else sees every inch of our pet’s body?  The groomer certainly does.  When bathing, blow drying, shaving, combing and handling cats, they see all there is to see. When a customer is regular with their grooming appointments (every 6 weeks) any changes in a pet’s skin, coat, weight, behavior becomes very obvious to the groomer.

When you have a Certified Master Groomer, they have had to take more test, and have the highest education possible to achieve a Masters in Cat or Dog Grooming. They can’t diagnose a pet medical problem.  To be a groomer, you are not required to take any test. You are a product of their teacher. Only a brave groomer would allow you to watch you groom their pet from start to finish! Keep that in mind if you ask to watch. They may say , “that is against our policy”,” due to insurance reasons, you can’t be in my van or in the area when the animals are being groomed.”  Watch your pet being groomed, really watch. How is your pet really being treated while away from your sight?
